Abdulai Duriyu declares intention to contest NDC Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser position

Abdulai Duriyu has declared his intention to contest for the position of Deputy Northern Regional Women’s Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Mr. Duriyu, in a declaration of intent, said his decision is motivated by years of dedicated service to the NDC, particularly his experience serving two terms as Deputy Regional Youth Organiser.
He said his tenure in the youth wing enabled him to work closely with women at the constituency, branch and tertiary levels, while building relationships with party stakeholders, elders and structures across the region.

According to him, the experience has given him a deeper understanding of the challenges confronting the party’s women’s wing and the opportunities available to strengthen its operations.
Mr. Duriyu said his experience in mobilising young people and students, organising grassroots activities and fostering collaboration across party structures has prepared him to assume the responsibility of Deputy Regional Women’s Organiser.
He stressed that effective leadership should be based on experience and a proven track record, rather than experimentation, expressing confidence that his background within the party makes him capable of contributing meaningfully to the women’s wing.
If elected, he pledged to prioritise the empowerment of women at all levels of the NDC, strengthen their participation in decision-making and promote policies that respond to the needs and aspirations of Ghanaian women.
Mr. Duriyu also said he would work to expand the party’s grassroots reach, support the effective implementation of the NDC’s manifesto and contribute to efforts to build what he described as a better future for Ghanaians.
He called on party members and supporters to join him in his quest, saying his ambition is anchored on the broader goal of “Building the Ghana We Want.”
