Ejura-Sekyedumase Schools Receive 1,000 Mono Desks to Address Furniture Deficit

The Member of Parliament for Ejura-Sekyedumase Constituency, together with the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Rafiu Adam Seidu, has presented 1,000 ultra-modern mono desks to the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipal Education Directorate for distribution to 28 beneficiary schools across the municipality.
The furniture, which will benefit both basic and pre-tertiary institutions, is aimed at addressing critical furniture shortages and improving the learning environment for pupils and students in the constituency.
The intervention follows a request made to the Ghana Education Trust Fund, GETFund, to provide furniture to schools and complement ongoing investments in educational infrastructure across Ejura-Sekyedumase.

The Member of Parliament emphasised that the construction of educational facilities must go hand in hand with the provision of essential facilities needed to make the classrooms conducive for effective teaching and learning.
He said every newly constructed educational facility under the administration must be adequately furnished before its official handover, stressing that the government’s commitment goes beyond constructing classrooms to ensuring that the facilities are properly equipped.
The MP urged the beneficiary schools to accept their allocated quantities while efforts continue to secure additional furniture for institutions that are yet to benefit.
He commended GETFund, the Municipal Education Directorate and other stakeholders for their collaboration in addressing the furniture deficit and appealed to school authorities to ensure the prudent use and proper maintenance of the desks.
He said continued investment in education remains critical to developing the human capital needed to drive the future prosperity of the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality.
