Late Naa Sulemana was a beacon of hope for Dagbon Youth - Lung Bukari
A young drummer and praise singer from the Sagnarigu Traditional Area, Lung Bukari, has described the late Paramount Chief of the Tolon Traditional Area, Major Retired Naa Sulemana, as a great motivator and a beacon of hope for the youth of Dagbon.
As tributes continue to pour in following the passing of the respected traditional ruler, Lung Bukari said the late Naa Sulemana was a symbol of unity and a chief who demonstrated genuine concern for the youth, traditional drummers, praise singers and other members of society.
According to him, the late chief commanded immense respect in the Tolon Traditional Area because of his distinctive leadership style, humility and commitment to instilling discipline in the younger generation.
He said Naa Sulemana was also a strong advocate for justice and fairness, particularly on issues affecting young people in schools and other institutions.
Lung Bukari noted that the late Paramount Chief’s support for traditional drummers and praise singers reflected his deep appreciation for Dagbon’s cultural heritage, while his concern for ordinary members of society demonstrated his commitment to the welfare and development of his people.
He described the death of Naa Sulemana as a significant loss to the Tolon Traditional Area, Dagbon and the wider traditional community, saying his legacy of unity, discipline, justice and service would continue to inspire generations to come.
Meanwhile, the first grandson of the late Tolon Naa and former Member of Parliament, Alhaji Umar Abdul Razak, also recounted the late chief’s good character, humility and exemplary leadership.
According to him, Naa Sulemana was a father figure whose doors were open to all, regardless of status or background.
Alhaji Umar Abdul Razak said the late Paramount Chief’s contributions to the development of his people and his unwavering respect for traditional values would remain an enduring part of his legacy.
