Northern Regional Minister tasks Soco facilitators on community engagement

The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Ali Adolf John, has urged Community Facilitators under the SOCO Project to strengthen community participation and ownership in development interventions.
He said the success of the project depended on effective engagement with beneficiary communities and urged the facilitators to ensure that local concerns and priorities were captured in the development process.
Hon. Ali Adolf John made the call on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at the Golden Tower near the University for Development Studies Main Campus in Tamale, where he addressed a training programme for Community Facilitators under the project.
He encouraged the facilitators to engage traditional authorities, women, young people, persons with disabilities and other community members to ensure inclusive participation.
The Regional Minister also urged them to provide communities with accurate information and work closely with local authorities and project officials to build trust and ensure the intended benefits of the SOCO Project reach beneficiaries.
He expressed confidence that the training would equip the facilitators with the skills needed to effectively support the project’s development and social cohesion objectives.
