Tatale-Sanguli: Binambom Clan marks 5th Homecoming Anniversary with calls for Unity and Development

The good people of Binambom in the Tatale-Sanguli District of the Northern Region have celebrated the fifth edition of their Homecoming Anniversary at Tatindo, with a renewed commitment to promoting development and supporting brilliant but needy students within the community.
The celebration brought together sons and daughters of Binambom from across the country and the diaspora to reconnect with their roots, strengthen relationships and promote unity among members of the clan.

Activities for this year’s celebration included a quiz competition for Junior High School students within Binambom communities, a lecture on the history of the Binambom Clan, and the presentation of cash awards to students who excelled in the recent Basic Education Certificate Examination.
Addressing the gathering, the spokesperson for the Chief of the Sanguli Traditional Area, Obore John Gaboja Kumanyi, said the Homecoming was more than a celebration, describing it as an initiative aimed at mobilising the people towards the development of the area.

He urged the people, particularly the youth, to prioritise education and maintain peace, which he described as a foundation for development.
The District Director of Education for Tatale-Sanguli, Masahudu Zakaria, who chaired the occasion, also appealed to students and the youth to take their education seriously. He reminded them that they must take personal responsibility for their education, stressing that no one can learn on their behalf.
The representative of the District Chief Executive, Mr. Sapon, underscored the importance of peace and appealed to parents to reject forced marriages. He further urged young women to avoid teenage pregnancy and remain focused on their education to improve their prospects for the future.

The District Police Commander also called on residents to maintain peace and avoid activities that could undermine the stability of the community, stressing that meaningful development cannot take place in an atmosphere of conflict.
Speaking on the sidelines of the celebration, the Treasurer of the Binambom Association, Comfort Bengarn, said the Homecoming provided an opportunity for members who had moved to different parts of the country and abroad to return home, reconnect with their roots and contribute to the development of the community.
