Tatale-Sanguli District marks National Sanitation Day at Kpabultabu

The Tatale Sanguli District has observed this month’s National Sanitation Day exercise at the Kpabultabu Electoral Area, with the District Chief Executive, Hon. Mary Tagba, leading residents and other stakeholders in a community clean-up exercise.
Speaking after the exercise, Hon. Tagba expressed gratitude to the residents and all participants for turning up in their numbers to support the initiative.

She said the National Sanitation Day, instituted by President John Dramani Mahama, must be taken seriously by all Ghanaians, stressing that maintaining a clean environment is essential to preventing diseases and promoting healthy communities.
Hon. Tagba particularly commended the Chief of Kpabultabu for leaving his palace to join the youth and residents during the exercise, describing his participation as historic and a demonstration of strong leadership.
She urged residents to make cleanliness a daily responsibility and not limit sanitation activities to only the National Sanitation Day exercise.

The District Sanitation Officer, Mr. Nasigiri Abubakari, expressed satisfaction with the turnout and encouraged residents to continue embracing sanitation education.
He noted that unlike in the past, when people were compelled through the “saman-saman” system to participate in communal activities, the focus is now on educating and encouraging communities to understand the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

The Assembly Member for Kpabultabu Electoral Area, Hon. Tampi Jonas, speaking on behalf of the Chief and the people, thanked the District Chief Executive for bringing the sanitation exercise to the community.
He assured the DCE and the district authorities of an even bigger turnout during future sanitation exercises.
The Development Queen Mother also appealed to residents to sustain the cleanliness of the community even after the sanitation team had left the area
KPABULTABU CLINIC APPEALS FOR SUPPORT

Meanwhile, authorities at the Kpabultabu Clinic have appealed for urgent support to address challenges facing the health facility.
A health worker at the clinic, Majeed, appealed to the District Chief Executive to assist in renovating the staff hostel, which he said is in a deplorable condition and suffers from severe leakages.

He also disclosed that the clinic currently has only three beds, making it difficult to accommodate patients requiring admission.
According to him, once the three beds are occupied, the facility is compelled to refer additional patients to other health centres, creating challenges for healthcare delivery in the community.
Popular TikTok content creator, Life in Colors, also joined residents for the clean-up exercise and entertained participants with comedy.
In one of his humorous remarks to the crowd, he said, “Whatever men can do, women can do best,” drawing laughter and excitement from participants.
