Wumbei urges NDC Constituency Executives Aspirants to prioritise unity

Grassroots mobiliser and aspiring Northern Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godfred Apasinaba Sulemana Wumbei, has urged all constituency executive aspirants to prioritise unity, discipline and the collective interest of the party as the nomination process begins.
In a statement issued on September 14, 2026, Mr Wumbei congratulated the aspirants for offering themselves to serve the party and described the constituency executive structure as the backbone of the NDC's grassroots organisation.
He called on the aspirants to conduct their campaigns with dignity, humility and respect, stressing that although they would compete for positions, they remained comrades working towards a common objective.
Mr Wumbei also urged the aspirants to focus their campaigns on ideas, service, grassroots mobilisation and commitment to the party rather than personal attacks, insults and divisive politics.
He further reminded successful candidates that victory would come with responsibility, while encouraging those who may not emerge victorious to remain committed to the NDC and continue contributing to the party's growth.
Mr Wumbei said the internal democratic process should be used to strengthen the party's structures and deepen unity across the Northern Region. He expressed his commitment to building a stronger and more responsive NDC at the grassroots level.
He wished all aspiring constituency executives a peaceful, fair and successful nomination process and called on all contestants to campaign responsibly and unite after the elections.
