Yapei-Kusawgu MP Supports Savannah Region Athletes with GH¢35,000

The Member of Parliament for Yapei-Kusawgu Constituency and Minister for Energy, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, has donated GH¢35,000 to support a team of 100 basic school athletes from the Savannah Region participating in the National Sports Competition.
The young athletes, who had been camped at Sawla in preparation for the competition, were reportedly at risk of missing the national event due to financial challenges, particularly the lack of funds for transportation and other participation-related expenses.
Following an appeal from the Education Directorate for assistance, Hon. Jinapor responded promptly by providing GH¢35,000 to help facilitate the team’s transportation and participation in the competition.
The intervention has removed a major financial obstacle facing the young athletes and enabled them to travel to represent the Savannah Region on the national stage.

The gesture is also being seen as a demonstration of Hon. Jinapor’s commitment to youth development, education and sports, particularly efforts to identify, nurture and promote young talents within the Savannah Region.
With the support, the athletes can now compete with the hope of making the region proud and showcasing their talents at the national level.
Hon. Jinapor’s timely intervention further underscores his commitment to responding to the needs of his constituents and supporting initiatives that create opportunities for young people across the Savannah Region.
